On 12th November 2018, Jennie (member of BLACKPINK) released her first debut single song titled SOLO. This song is written by TEDDY, composed by TEDDY and 24, and arranged by 24. In just 3 days, the view has been more than 39M in Youtube and her Spotify account has reached more than 445k monthly listener.

The MV was taken mostly in London and some in Seoul. Actually, I remember around 1-2 months ago there were several posts that mentioned fans saw Jennie in London. Now it reveals that was for MV shooting!

In the MV, Jennie wore 22 outfits and killed each of them perfectly! She is indeed as good as her nickname: “Human Chanel”. And there is one scene that I feel like Jennie gives me the same vibe as G-Dragon (in Crooked MV) – although it’s a different place and different costume (lol!).

 

Anyway, for 2:48 minutes (refer to Spotify) in an EDM-type song, Jennie told us a story about the end of a relationship in one woman’s view. There was a moment when the woman showed her innocent side, loved her partner, got tired with the relationship, got hurt by her partner and/or by her decision, hid her feelings by sending standard couple messages to her partner, cried by herself as everything in the relationship now means nothing, and all of them are nicely wrapped in one song.

In the end, the woman finally breaks free and now sits on her throne. She takes care of herself, be more true to herself, and then she shines solo.

Here is the lyric and its translation (written in different color and I won’t change the color if the lyric is already in English)! I like the way they play with the words when we can misheard the “Bichi naneun sollo” which means “I’m shining solo” to “Bitch, na na solo” or “Bitch, naneun sollo“.
