YG Entertainment surprised the public by introducing a duo rapper from two different boy groups under the company. They are MINO and BOBBY, and they debuted under the name of MOBB.

In the album, both of them show their personal unique styles through a solo song. MINO’s solo titled “Body” was released on 8th September 2016 and the first part of the song already gives us the sensual vibe. This hip hop song is written by MINO himself, composed by him and FUTURE BOUNCE, and arranged by FUTURE BOUNCE.

As Korean broadened their type of music, their lyrics also developed to a more “modern culture”. Through this song, MINO delivers feeling of a guy who misses her girl. But never it mentions that the girl was once his girlfriend. It seems that they only had a physical relationship. Or in a more general term, they are what we called friends with benefit.

When I learnt about its English translation, I realize that the lyric was written in a very fun way. There might be a part when we will misheard the lyrics:

“I’m talking about your mom, I’m talking about your daddy”

The lyric is actually:

“I’m talking about your mom (몸), I’m talking about your dari (다리)”

As mom (hangeul: 몸, read as moum) and dari (hangeul: 다리, read as dar-rie) are Korean words for body and legs.

Also, there is a part saying: “Sagwaneun piryoeoptjana” which means “No need to apologize”. Then, the next lyric is “Urin anya adamgwa ibeu” which means “We’re not Adam and Eve”.

This is somehow the way MINO plays with the word because “Sagwa” has two meanings in Korea. It can be “apologize” and “apple”. OK. Now, Adam and Eve isn’t just plainly mentioned as a couple. But it’s also because of the apple.

See how it makes more sense now, right?
